Leslie DeHart is a public health veteran with over 20 years of experience serving Oklahoma, specializing in program planning, policy development, and direct service in mental health and addiction. She champions integrated physical and behavioral healthcare, focusing on systems-level change. Since 2022, Leslie has been with the Oklahoma State Health Department's Tobacco Prevention and Control Program, driving evidence-based strategies to reduce tobacco use and its chronic disease impact statewide. A graduate of the CDC's Applied Leadership Program, she is committed to promoting tobacco-free environments and clean air. Leslie, an Oklahoma native, resides in Moore with her family.

Puff Fiction: The Dangerous Myths about Vaping and Student Health
This presentation will share relevant information about the health risks of vaping while providing information about usage in Oklahoma and spotlighting ways in which educators can impact the use of vaping through preventive curriculum options and free cessation resources. This presentation will provide an overview of how vaping affects the body with a focus on youth users. Participants will learn about an evidence-based prevention curriculum that is free to school systems and receive information on youth-specific cessation resources provided free of charge to Oklahoma teens.
